For those who cook at home, do you have any recommendations for particular brands and/or models of temperature probes to use for general purpose cooking (e.g. water temp for egg poaching, ensuring meats have reached a particular level of done-ness, etc.)? Ideally I'd like something with a pointy metal stick that you stick into whatever it is you're measuring, that isn't going to break after a few months and also doesn't cost more than $30-35 USD. Compactness optional but appreciated since I don't want this taking up any more than a bit of drawer space. Thanks in advance for any advice.
