In none of these places will you ever find decent "fish & chips".
If you don't have a proper dedicated range fryer, you simply cannot make either fish or chips that isn't some pale imitation.

Some restuarants might be able to do it, but that's a hell of a long shot as these things are like 10k+ (£) and the vast majority of them won't drop that kind of cash unless they're specialising in fried foods AND doing little else but fish and potato. And this is in the UK.
In the US virtually no-one is going to do that. And if they did they'd more likely use it for meats and fries, which need a higher temperature and wouldn't cook the fish/chips properly. And waiting for a range to heat/cool to the right temperature is time that isn't spent making food/money.
