stovetop frying pan (solely direct heat) is not a good method of cooking sausages.
they don't cook evenly, you dry them out and it makes a mess
the best way is to sear in a pan and then put the pan in an oven to cook them through
or grill them with a lid which also does roast + direct heat

or poach in a beer or stock or something with peppers and onions and then grill

honestly straight up sauteing whole sausages is about as retarded as simply boiling them. Slice them up if you want to saute.
