We had this 'sugar tax' in the UK recently, and most soft drinks companies replaced sugar with artificial sweeteners to avoid the tax.
I stopped buying any of those products, and now only buy products made with sugar as a sweetener.
As long as there are people like me, who are willing to pay a little more to support products made with natural ingredients, there will always be a market for soft drinks made only with sugar as a sweetener.
