you are correct that the military will probably implament them but only because the people in office want the military to be less effective and yet cheaper. In general this is not how militaries outside of china are run however. Military personal are treated like athletes and emphasis on diet is for performance and moral, not space and cost.

As we move further into the (((Future))) though, we are already seeing things like coffee instant removed from mres.
