I've never understood why people buy Strongbow and Magners. If you're gonna go for fake cider, why not just buy Crofters? It's literally the exact same thing but you're paying double the price for Strongbow. All cheap ciders are just fermented sugar water with apple flavouring.

Are there any British alkies in this thread? I've got a couple weeks off but don't have an awful lot of money, but I'd still like to get drunk at least every other day. What's the best value to booze ratio? The cheapest bottle of spirits I can see in any local shops for me is 9.75, for some tesco vodka at 37.5%. Tesco also has 2l bottles of cider for £2.05 that are 5%, so that's the best value I've seen but if possible I'd rather not drink 6l of cider if possible since it tastes like piss. Is there a better option out there?

I see the local alkies carry round that Henry Weston's stuff, is that tolerable?
