Your experiences where overall shitty experience trumped halfway decent food.

>new food truck run by husband and wife opens up not far from where I work
>check it out for first time
>small talk while husband is cooking
>Wife asks if this is my first visit, which it was
>wife asks what I do
>tell her, (it's a educational/cultural institution- this college, library, museum, etc)
>she exclaims "oh that place is so boring"
>tell her I don't think it is and I enjoy it. You wouldn't want to make your mind up about a place from a single experience only to never return." -hypocrisy, I know but that was my point.
>get my food
>leave

Do I return? Food was decent but do you insult your customers on their first visit? Personally, I don't need a complete stranger insult what I do for a living, what allows me to patron your business. This isn't so much about food but business etiquette. It was a backhand comment similar to the affect if I had said, that I "enjoy good food from a roach coach."

inb4 being a limp wristed faggot.

This.
I remember when I built my first computer. I had to install a CPU cooler...it had detailed instructions, step by step, on how to mount it. I tried for about a half hour before giving up in frustration. I went back to it the next day, not even glancing at the paper, just looking at the part and the board...and I figured out how to put it together in about 45 seconds.

I've had similar experiences with some recipes. Until last week, I never managed to bake a cake properly (always fell or was horribly dry) I tried quite a few different recipes. I decided to simply check out a random video on YouTube. The cook explains everything in about 4 mins, I tried his steps and the cake came out nearly perfect.

>went to the dentist today
>didn't eat brefist (never do) or lunch beforehand cause I didnt want nasty mouth.
>finish dentist, go to chipotle like 3 buildings down

>all the employees are mesicans
>some even speak spanish talk
>hey cool, this is "authentic"
>get the chipotle.
>eat the chipotle.

short of actually having people wear sumbreos and singing la cuchracha, I don't think that they can get any more the real deal. The beans and rice are like mecian but made in murica so they don't have nasty weeboil, but now that would be really authentic.
