Corned Beef. My mother did the best corned beef. She said her aunt did it better, but I beg to differ.
She also made an absolutely fantastic bechamel sauce. But I wasn't stupid, it's one of the first things I ever asked my mum to teach me to cook.

No, the meal I haven't had in a long time was my grandmother's semolina dumpling soup. The dumplings I can do just fine, but I haven't had a soup as good as hers in over almost a decade and a half. And I never got the recipe for the soup. So I've been trying, trying everything to try and re-create it.

And last week I did.
I swear to Christ; I was taste testing the soup, added a little more salt and tasted it again, and I had a moment almost exactly like that. I just stopped and remembered all those lunches at Baba's.

Like everytime I see a pack that still has cookies/biscuits or some bread that isn't dirty, sometimes I even find some booze from people that didn't finish a bottle and just left it there, except if it's beer.
