I wouldn't say I eat it regularly, maybe 10 times a year.
It's good, you have to like the texture and taste is quite strong, it can be offputting for a lot of people.

It's traditionally consumed battered where I live

wash it thoroughly
blanch it in boiling water for a couple of minutes
remove the thin membrane on the outside
cut it in smaller pieces
take every piece and cover it with flour, shake the excess, dip it in beaten egg and then coat it in breadcrumbs
deep fry the crumbed pieces in oil for a few minutes until golden
