Are there any good recipes out there for Del Taco/Taco Bell "beef" taco meat? Every recipe I come across uses only beef as the main ingredient, but apparently less than half of the actual thing is beef. What do they put in as filler? Soy? Oats? I just want a faithful cheap recipe so I can make bulk Taco Bell beef at home.

Why the hell are ground beef tacos considered the staple of Mexican food in America? Never have I seen a Hispanic family or authentic restaurant actually make it, let alone like it that much.
