Most vegetable peelers are unironically worse using a normal cheese slicer.
It doesn't help that you can get cheese slicers of higher quality, while you can't for vegetable peelers.

Why not just go full Norwegian and use a cheese slicer at that point? Its a option, and the only downside is that you use more butter, which isn't a real downside.
