The minimum wage should be abolished. It is literally nothing more than a crutch for lazy people in a society who want to do just that--the bare minimum. This is reflected by progressive efforts to increase the minimum wage to ridiculous rates which will have massive, massive economic impacts.

This is the only current answer in this entire thread. Gelatin was fucking expensive for a long, long time because it had to be made fresh, and it had to be made by hand. Once we were able to industrialize it's production and dehydrate it, all the older people wanted gelatin desserts because they had grown up in the depression with gelatin being a rich person's food.
