I'm engaged to a woman who, in moments of honesty, admits that she finds the act of cooking degrading. She has said this in a round about way. It makes her feel like she's becoming the same kind of woman as her mum (a very homely housewife), and the image of herself as that kind of woman appalls her. She eats takeout every day unless I cook or she's feeling particularly motivated. Very sad.
