Fuck 'em. A hot brown is the best sandwich, they can fight me.

Kentucky country language. Burgoo is a stew, like a gumbo, but only with land animals you can hunt, and vegetables you can pull out of your garden. It's usually at least three meats in it (beef-chicken-pork, or venison-boar-quail, whatever you have).

A hot brown is a thick slice of toast, covered with turkey, bacon, tomatoes, and cheesy mornay sauce.

Pic related, it's a Kentucky hot brown.

Necessity for a BLT, hot brown, or club. Unnecessary and unwelcome on any other sandwich.

Once you can make a mornay sauce, then you can make a Kentucky hot brown too.

Turkey sandwiches are mediocre unless you put some honey mustard and bean sprouts on them. The hot brown is the GOAT turkey sandwich.

Why would you put bread on top, then cover it with gravy? I'm having difficulty following the thought process here. In a world where open-faced sandwiches, gravy, knives and forks exist, why would you put bread on top?

What the fuck are you talking about? Just double up on toppings. It's late night and you're making a hot brown, or a Thanksgiving sandwich, or a Sunday roast sandwich? You're probably drunk as shit and want the turkey, mornay sauce, gravy, mashed potatoes, etc more than the bread.
