Jesus seems a little much for this kind of appliance. How is it? I'm thinking about a nipponese rice machine so I'm not against wasting money on electronics. Those appliances can literally keep rice perfect for several days though. Same reason I want the grill. I want to make rice and grilled meats/veggies a staple.

No it's not brainlet "traditional" barbeque is called "barbacoa" which is a Spanish word derived from the Taino island people. They literally started the whole thing having taught the Spaniards how to create grills. This wasn't cheap cuts of meat it was whole animals and fish.
