Is there anything more satisfying than preparing and cooking a nice fresh slab of somethings flesh?

i might even like doing it more than actually eating it

How do I make the best steak if I have these options:

1, cheap pan (stainless steel, but very thin, with some teflon on top, I think it's from ikea)
2, a relatively good electric grill, I think you call them george foreman grills in USA, but the brand of this one is different.

If I were to use the grill, I would not "close" the grill like when making a sandwich, the maximum temperature is 220 C/ 428 F.

I could also try searing it in the pan for a minute, then putting it on the grill.

I'll buy a pan sometime soon, but right now, what should I do? Is the grill any use? Or should I just use the pan only?
