No not really.
Texas BBQ comes from the natural combination of native, German, Polish, and Czech techniques. In fact the style of sausage served at a BBQ place will typically be Polish or Czech. Sometimes in central Texas you will see "hot guts" (German, all beef, no garlic).
The Czech influence is also why we have kolaches.
