went to neighborhood 3rd wave/hipster joint. it was just before 7am so the shopkeep was still getting things ready. he let me in and i had a seat while he finished setting out the signboard. another patron walked in as the dude was just about ready to take my order so i approached the counter. i was there to buy some coffee beans as I had run out. they had some light espresso roast guatamalan antigua so i picked that along with my order: a feature latte and a chai spice latte (you get one free beverage with purchase of a bag of beans). i thought to pickup some donuts or something to go with my coffee but none were on display yet. the server said he had fresh some pastries (apple galettes) that hadn't been set out yet, so i asked for two of those instead. once i paid and my drinks were prepared i wished the server a good day and set out. took a sip of my PSL once i got in my car and although i did end up splurging on this trip, I was glad that I did. That was the good stuff.
