/fit/ tourist here, there are a lot of foods that are unhealthy in so far as they contain poisons on some level, (mercury in tuna, alcohol in beer, etc). But by far the most unhealthy food in my opinion is fast food and junk food, as general concepts. The problem with fast food and junk food (though fast food especially), is that it tends to have a high caloric density with little protein, and a lot of carbs. The high carbs and low protein mean that a person experiences less satisfaction from the same amount of calories, (think a piece of chicken breast v.s a mars bar).

Fast food and junk food is also engineered to make you want to eat as much as possible, for instance in fastood there is an amount of sugar that can be put into any food that will make people subjectively rate it higher than if the sugar wasn't added. This threshold is known as the "bliss point" and beyond it people complain that food is sickly sweet. But up to that threshold it gives food (even "savoury" food like a mcdonalds quarter pounder), an addicting quality.

These factors combined: the caloric density, the lack of satiety, and the way the food is engineered to be addictive, as well as the general convenience of it mean that your average person will become more and more addicted to fast food and junk food, eat to a calorie surplus and gain weight. Thats why 41% of the adult U.S population are obese, (73.6% are overweight).

I'm not even going to try to list all of the health related complications and causes of death that are a direct result of being overweight or obese (let's just say it's more than car crashes).

If i had to name one specific food it would be mcdonalds, since it's the most convenient fast food out there.

Really you should be able to just eat and maintain a low body fat percentage, people in the 1950's didn't have to diet and count calories in order to prevent themselves from turning into Beluga whales.

I started a diet on the New Year, but my go-to order use to be

2 large fries
3 McChickens
1 Mcdouble
20 piece nugget
Large soda

and I could eat it all in one sitting, so comparing that to your image, I'd say my order was way more food, but I never got mcflurries or apple pies.

That's a fairly small amount for an average sized person. I'd say? The reason fast food cooks so fast and "lasts" so short is that there isn't much density to it.
