as for drinks, unfiltered beers look pretty medieval, mead is generally too sweet and alcoholic for a gaming session I'd say

paulaner is like the only decent beer along with guiness you can find in even the shittiest bar

craft beer is better on average than macro beer since 95% of macro beer is tasteless lagers that are only palatable when almost frozen, while the average craft beer is just a slightly overhopped IPA
that being said there is a lot of good macro beer out there, and many bad craft beers too
a nice weizen certainly beats some sriracha and bacon beard monstrocity
