Why not go for something like Courvoisier VSOP or Remy Martin 1738? They are both good and 1/3 to 1/2 the price of an XO. I would describe the Courvoisier as more rounded and soft, with the Remy being bolder. Otherwise, maybe try the Delamain XO Pale & Dry? It's less expensive than most XOs and I've heard good things.
