i take a hot plate into my backyard and sear the ever-loving-shit out of ground beef formed into patties

then i let it cool and crumble it with my hands
i sweat down a yellow onion and then add the ground beef, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, garlic, cayenne, black pepper, and combine that until everything is dark red and well-coated

then i add a cup of tomato sauce, and two cups of beef broth, simmer for 30 minutes, cool overnight, and then reheat and serve

Beans contribute virtually nothing to the final product taste-wise. They're fiber and filler.

Me? I'd put my energies into making thin hamburger patties and getting a dark brown sear on each and every one, both sides. Let them cool, and then put on some vinyl or nitrile gloves and squeeze them in your hands to crumble.

Dude, everyone knows you wash your ground beef at home with cold water instead of warm or hot water to prevent shrinkage.
