>canada day, working at a little place that was very indie, almost greasy spoon but a little more put together
>get in at 6:30 am, prep heavy for brunch, start in on as much as i can to make crossover easy
>brunch is a complete shitshow, servers all over the place fucking things up, me and my cold side guy keep everything together as well as possible, record breaking sales
>crossover approaches, guy running the night shows up
>he's half cut because a new brewery had just opened nearby and he went to check it out like a fucking nigger
>tell him to go sit down and have a couple coffees before he gets anywhere near the kitchen, he does, goes upstairs to get changed, passes out in the office
>its now 4:30, he's still basically fucking wasted, its still fucking busy, theres a bunch of prep happening on the fly
>dude is in the kitchen, drops a bowl with 3 orders of wings in it that needed to be gone
>lose my shit on him, send him home, get the dishwasher to call everyone who's off/used to work with us
>one guy is a saint and comes in to fill
>work a nightmare dinner service, nearly get assaulted by a patron, cops are involved
>get out at 2:30 am
slept 18 hours after that
horrible fucking time and it makes me mad every time i recall it
