I'd almost venture to say that beans are an aquired taste.
I used to hate them when I was growing up.
The look, the smell, the texture.

...but then, my tastebuds suddenly changed overnight.
I suddenly started to appreciate the smell of ham hocks and cornbread and a big ol' pile of diced onions next to muh beans.
I love them, but I can understand how they're not for everyone. You really gotta be in a 'mood' for some beans, even if you're a bean lover.

Alright, so i've been reading on how to make the 'perfect' batch of rice from various cooking places around the internet.
Mine always turns out 'too' sticky or dry or some shit.

They all seem to have one thing in common - Rinse the rice first.
I've been neglecting this step forever.
So I got some rice, and ran some water over it first and swished it around a bit.
This cloudy shit came up from it, which I drained.
Rinsed again till the water was pretty clear.

Is 'that' the shit that is fucking up my rice?
...or does it really affect anything at all?
I've heard its like talc powder or something.
