When you make quesadillas, do you fry them in butter/oil or do you just cook them alone?

So I've come to the conclusion that for a perfect quesadilla you have to grease the pan, it just doesn't come out as good otherwise. Either way it's a pretty good snack, potentially frightening, but good for most.
