wild man dave cake.

take a chocolate cake mix.
a 16oz can of cherry pie filling
1 tsp almond extract.
package of chocolate chips.

add pie filling to cake mix (and nothing else).
mix thoroughly.
melt chocolate chips in double boiler with almond extract.
bake cake
pour melted chocolate on cake as frosting.

don't let dave find it.

I make lemonade this way
finely grated zest from 1 lemon no white pith
1 largish lemon squeezed in to a glass
2 tablespoons of sugar,
1.5 cups of whatever water you want.
mix together till sugar dissolves

Cooking bacon in a pan how to:
Put bacon in cold pan.
Turn on heat to high
When water squeezes out of bacon turn heat to medium flip bacon
Once all water evaporates from pan flip bacon
Wait for bacon to start to hump in the center length wise
Flip bacon
Look for hump and flip
Repeat until bacon starts to froth.
Bacon is done, no mess, 11 minutes.

cut up 1 large russet for each person being served. cut pieces no smaller than 3/4 inch, try to cut each as close to the same as all the other. throwing pieces in pot full of water until all potatoes are cut.

drain water, and refill with fresh.

add lots of salt to water. bring to boil for 8 minutes. drain water and let potatoes stand for a minute or 2 in the colander. transfer to large bowl and let stand till steam begins to fade.

using a hand mixer break up the potatoes and let steam escape. add salt and pepper to taste, continue mixing, add on or 2 tablespoons of butter for each potato. mix with hand mixer.

add 1 or 2 tablespoons of sour cream to potatoes and continue mixing until creamy and fluffy. gather potatoes in to a mound in bowl and microwave for 1 minute.

mix again with hand mixer, mound and server.

grate your potatoes, then rinse them in water till the water is clear. drain off the water and squeeze them between several folds of paper towels. in a large pan put 4 table spoons of clarified butter. heat to 300° reduce to medium heat. put potatoes in pan and spread evenly. cook for 5 minutes. do not stir, do not peak, do not flip until 5 minutes is up.
add another 3 tablespoons of clarified butter.
flip. cook for 5 more minutes (no stirring no peaking no flipping).
