It was replaced with a rice cooker

If you want a free breadmaker, it's in storage.

I have the model below with just the IH but not the pressure modes.

Works great for rice, I enjoy using the timer to have it done exactly when i need it, I also enjoy the long keep warm time.

Makes good oatmeal too.

I don't think OP actually has that rice cooker anon, he probably got an ACTUAL rice cooker like a Zoji or a Cuckoo.

No one considers a $15-25 black and decker from Kmart to be a "real" rice cooker. It's basically just a pot heater with a lid.

If your rice cooker wasn't made in japan or Korea it's probably dog shit.

I eat enough rice as to where i'd rather just overspend to ensure a good rice cooker than worry about if the low end rice cooker i got is good enough or not.

>fyi zojis are calibrated for short grain Japanese rice and nothing else.
plenty of the nicer models also have long grain cooking modes

If you ONLY use provided plastic serving spoon and you gently hand wash it, it should last years.

Never use a metal implement in the bowl, never use a scratchy abrasive sponge or brush, and just don't be rough with it.

I still tend to replace my inner bowls every ~10 years or so. When I bought my last rice cooker (pic related) a year ago, I bought an extra inner bowl to go with it and I just keep the extra inner bowl in a cabinet ready to be pulled out for when I need it in probably ~8-10 years.

>I was a bit pissed that it was made in China honestly
then why did you buy a shitty one made in china??

All of the good ones are made in japan

There isn't a MASSIVE difference

The IH does a bit better job at making sure the batch is evenly cooked, but the standard neurofuzzy isn't particularly bad at that either, the IH is just a bit better.

My rice cooker has a jasmine rice setting and does decently, but it still does Japonica rice better, because that's what it was made for.

Also, Japonica rice includes dozens if not hundreds of breeds of rice, not ONE specific kind of rice.

yes
>regular
>softer
>harder

also sushi setting and sushi water level will use less water and give you a drier harder rice, since it's meant to be vinegared for sushi prep.
