pickled foods and fermented foods are bittersweet.
they are rotting food that bring sourness from lactic acid and maybe vinegar.
like the hotdog,pizza its just a vehicle for something else.
the pickle is decayed, but it attracts new life and uses it as energy. and in turn makes your belly feel good.
from all the microbes it attracted as the brine and pickle baited them to flourish to the exclusion of all other life.
