If you aren't a vegetarian for ethical reasons, then why don't you just limit yourself to eating meat one or two meals out of the week? Be conscientious about it, since you will eat it so infrequently, and buy meat of pastured animals. You should be able to allow yourself to indulge in meat on limited basis without going overboard and becoming a glutton. You wouldn't feel like you are missing out and you could maintain a mostly vegetarian diet and not have to worry about over-consuming/ getting fat. Even wild caught fish or shellfish if you don't already. Very healthy, and versatile. Get motivated by really taking a vow to eat for nutrition as well as taste. Don't buy processed crap that mimics meat, cook from scratch and cook good food. Put care into it again.
Even if you decide not to include meat in your diet a few times a week you should find some more recipes to get you excited about what you are eating again. If you keep eating the same meals it gets tedious.
I am trying to include more meatless dishes in our diet since we are on a budget. I have been working on a version of lasagna that uses ground cooked mushrooms and onions in place of meat (I LOVE baby bellas mushrooms) and thinly sliced zucchini in place of lasagna noodles.
I guess you just have to get passionate again, find a friend or someone to cook with or someone you can swap recipes with. Start a potluck lunch campaign at work once a month or something.
The plate in your OP looks delicious by the way!

So your point is that soy sauce is salty? If you can't taste the difference between soy sauce and salt you're chemically touched

Technique will come to you over time if you apply yourself, and ultimately that will still only spare you seconds. The real way to be productive in the kitchen is efficiency. You need to learn to anticipate things ahead of time, by what is most important. Every kitchen has a rhythm and flow, and you need to learn to 'feel' that. Never idle your time, but focus on using it efficiently, e.g., don't start cleaning something that is going to be cleaned again later when you could be slicing tomatoes.

Balsamic chicken

1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian herb seasoning
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 tablespoon olive oil

Salisbury Steak
4 boneless steaks (about 4 ounces each)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Flour, for dredging
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
4 cups beef stock
8 ounces white button mushrooms, quartered
8 ounces shiitake mushrooms, stemmed, caps quartered
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 onion, minced
1 carrot, diced
4 sprigs fresh thyme
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup balsamic vinegar

Those are two dishes I make, not necessarily with these particualr recipes, I just googled them up so I didn't have to type. They aren't bad though, these recipes that is, especially the second one. The first one, you could do honey instead of sugar, and a fresh herb instead of italian seasoning.

As for /ck/ core, I would say Steak au poivre maybe. The thing is, you would need dishes from all cuisines, and then specific recipes can vary greatly. The real answer is probably ramen noodles.

I have a Blackberry bush, and they are starting to accumulate in my kitchen. I do not eat a lot of fruit, but I don't like wasting food either.

So far, I have had them the following ways:

In yogurt with honey

cooked down with sugar, served over ice cream

Blackberry BBQ sauce

Blackberry vinaigrette

I am tired of looking at them.

You can use it to replace water in lots of shit
Soy Sauce braised pork
condensed soups
chicken for tacos/burritos
cooking veggies

You prolly didn't, but you sjould put it in the fridge over night before you use it so you can scrape the fat off of the top.

Hey guys, I usually marinate chicken in yogurt, but I don't have any. Could I use sour cream instead? I'm prolly gonna bake it.
