How much coffee is too much to drink in a day?

I read it's fine to drink 3-4 cups a day, but sizes confuse me, as I don't know if they talk about those tiny ass cups I've only seen in hipster coffee shops, or the average mug everyone has at home.

For the record, I have a medium sized coffee in the morning and a large one after my main meal.
