Have you guys ever felt really down about yourself after failing in the kitchen?

I made the mistake of not checking doneness on some chicken thighs, and after plating and cutting into it the sheer horror of seeing pink kind of killed me a little bit on the inside. Such a rookie mistake.

I can fix it tomorrow, but I'm kind of feeling down on myself.

You guys ever mess up like that?

Hey guys

So I'm going over to a friends house on Sunday to make some food and I had it in mind to cook some German style food. I was thinking some braised bratwurst. My friend loves beer, and I want to show him some good pairings. All I have on me is a 24 pack of Firestone which I drank all of the Union Jack IPA. I bought it at Costco because Costco is fucking awesome and I'm not a pleb.

I still have: DBA (Double Barrel Ale), Pale 31, and Easy Jack.

Any suggestions for pairing with what I have?
