I recently tried Irish butter for the first time and it's clearly superior to the typical American butter. It's like the ice cream of butters. Cuts easily and is more flavorful.

My understanding is that the difference is the fat content.

What are your thoughts on Irish butter versus regular. When do you use each of them?

I tried both of them unsalted because I wanted to actually see if there was a difference in the quality of the butter itself and not the seasoning. There is none, you can always add more salt and flavorings making a compound spread.
