Hi /ck/. My wife and I will be hosting a get together for my wife's son's father's family, what are some good party foods that are easy to prepare but delicious? I'm thinking the main course could be some hearty soul food that they will enjoy as they're african american but I'm also thinking of throwing some good ol' meat on the barbecue.

I have about 2 days worth of preptime as well. I don't really cook aside from some homely meals and don't have much experience hosting many people, and my wife will be out with my son's father for a while buying some gifts for the family so I can't exactly rely on her. Thanks /ck/.
