I made his carnitas for a party a while back and it came out awesome, huge hit, 4lbs of pork shoulder immediately devoured.

What's your go-to favorite meal for special occasions/celebrations? It's my birthday tomorrow, but I have no idea what to eat - lobster is usually my birthday dish, but I'm not really in the mood.
What do you make/buy yourself when you feel like you deserve a treat?

this is one of the few celebrity deaths thats ever truly bothered me. a lot of my favorite musicians have died, actors in movies i really loved - but this is different.
this man opened my eyes to the world when i was just a teenager stuck in my own head, and made me want to get out and see what the world has to offer me. he was one of the first people who made me believe i actually could do that, seeing where he came from and what he accomplished for himself. he will truly be missed, my appetite will never be the same again.

So I just found out I'm allergic to eggs yesterday, and while its not a serious problem, I'm trying to wrap my head around life without them. What do you guys eat for breakfast that doesn't involve eggs? Or if you do eat them a lot like I do (did?), what do you have with em?

A nice piece of steak, eggs over easy and fried yellow rice is probably my favorite breakfast ever
