It's a shitty job, made better only by your coworkers. I miss it, sometimes.

I worked at a pizza place in college not too long ago, and when inventory came and I was tasked with checking it all in, I got to see firsthand just how cheap everything really is.

For example, a bag of dough cost about a dollar, and gave us roughly 20-25 larges, which were then sold for 25-40 dollars each. The cheese came in 50 pound boxes, giving enough cheese for about 80 pizzas, and that only cost 25 bucks a box. The most expensive toppings were Canadian bacon and regular bacon at 50 dollars a box, but things like linguica, pepperoni, and salami were all about 15 a box, and made massive amounts of pizzas.

Also, the wings were all regular Tyson wings, even the boneless.

Mostly going to be prep at first. Cutting veg, toppings, sauces.

I’ve been learning and practicing basics from jewtube but was wondering if anybody else has some recommendations for books, videos or other sources for aspiring kitchen wage slave. Advice is welcome as well.
