I honestly can't eat anything that isn't traditional American or french food without spice.
bratwurst? add some hot mustard to it
Hungarian goulash? Add some hot peppers to it
Italian ragu? Add some spicy sausage to the sauce
Mexican dish that's not traditionally hot? ask for it a la mexicana
