Indian food smells fucking terrible. What kind of subhuman culture eats this shit every day? I got some today and my house reeked for a while. Oh and tastewise it's nothing special.

Is Indian food that people know in the West more based on Muslim food of subcontinent? I see menus are often all meat heavy, beef on menu and preparation of food is similar to Middle Eastern restaurants where they cook bread and meat in tandoori ovens or put rice on sauce and meat and then bake it covered basically like biryani. I don't know, it all seems very Arabic, but with way more spices and chilies.

Ok what the fuck is the secret to making good Indian food? I can make just about anything else but these dishes always come out spiced but one dimensional, not at all rich and complex like at good restaurants.

Why the fuck is Indian food so god damned expensive? I've tried it in three different cities and it is always overpriced. A bunch of poorfag Indians who don't even wash their hands before they cook want to charge more than any other ethnic restaurant. I could get a plate of sashimi for the same price as a dish of curry.
I can cook it just fine myself, problem is I don't want my entire apartment to smell like it for a week.
