Not totally related, but i really want a diner style letter board menu for my kitchen. i have not found one yet that is just right. preferably vintage coke back lit.

the small town i grew up in had a greaseball hamburger counter that went out of business in maybe '93. letter board menu like a described, and in the summer they had 25 cent burger night on i think Tuesdays. they were like whitecastle sliders but home made, and about 50 percent larger. still small buger, but a few bite more than a whitecastle.

i used to work at a place that had a great veggie burger. i wish i could remember the recipe. its good enough i sometimes go back for one when i get the craving.

it was mad of finely grated potato, carrot and onion, limp spinach and processed mushrooms all cooked together with some white wine then finished with a few eggs (lol) and some panko. formed into patties and frozen for storage then fired to order in a light clarified butter saute.

The Hangover sandwich

>toast (take your pick of breads)
>peanutbutter
>bacon
>egg over easy
>DONT BREAK THE YOKE FAGGOT
go for broke with some onion jam cooked down in the bacon fat
>melt on sharp cheddar
>top with more toast, or eat open face
>break that yoke before service so it oozes all over the sandwich.

No one should make this sandwich unless they are comfortable with destroying their body
