Brandy is nice i guess, to age home made fruit cakes, in coffee, and reductions, some desserts and fruits. (brandied peaches or cherries over ice cream) Most of my brandy knowledge is from garrison keillor, a good man and book.distilled wine or fruit. calvados or apple jack, some dark rums, are just that. a slight fruit taste. When I buy it, I get cheap christian brothers, for egg nog or fruit cakes. You can get very expensive, real quick Cognac, vsop, etc. Best ever I had was untaxed (shine) from a mason jar. peach brandy. cold(left in a frezzer) and high proof, maybe 150. But really did taste of peaches... nice. I know enough to not order benedictine and brandy twice for a table of four, unless you want a $200 bar bill,Also I don' like "shine". usually junk, you don't know how or what made from and higher priced than at the store. and had some experience. as always, up to you ck

under 50 I've always found this to be great. depends though, lobster or chateau briand..actually hamburger and porknbeans are fine. I'd rather.seriously not a wine guy, but simple good merlot for cooking,, vermouth for degalsing, beer or cider for drinking.. under 50? get real. that's a day's pay to many,
