I love smoked salmon, I fucking love it. I eat it by itself, on crusty bread with cream cheese, on blinis, with cheeses and grapes and apples and shit when I don't want a full meal.

Thing is, it's fucking expensive.

/ck/ peeps, how do I source good smoked salmon cheap? Bulk buy from market or what?

the whole ethnic shopping thing to save money doesn't always work. Ethnic prices on meats usually can't beat the good specials from low-tier big chains. It's the same for many other items, ethnic stores usually don't have very good specials although their regular prices are usually better

In Montreal, I get my rice usually from low tier big chains (superC and maxi) when it's on special and it's even cheaper than in chink and paki stores. Same with the meats.
Chickpeas on the other hand I get it from this persian store that sells 10lbs bags at 9 bucks, but for kidney beans, their hsit is like 12$ for 10lbs... I'd rather go to this jewish ghettolike store in the hipster hood that sells it by the lbs. They raised the prices recently, most beans are at 1.29CAD per lb but romano beans and black beans remain at 99c
