hosting a bbq tomorrow, need some help


my roomate usually bbqs for our bi-weekly gaming day...

this week my roomate is out of town so i will be firing up the grill - and want to do a good job without asking those knuckleheads for help

anyways, I was walking through my deli and found 2 large pieces of tri tip (that was already marinated) and a slab of pork ribs (with a cajun rub)

im pretty sure 'low and slow' is the name of the game for these pieces. but am i supposed to sear the tri tip first? something about sealing in the juices? what about the ribs?

im pretty sure i can handle the tri tip, but little lost with the ribs

any advice?
