One time I had an old fuck keep me at the register for ten minutes. TEN MINUTES of just rambling about old people bullshit I couldn't care less about. I could've mopped the entire lobby in the time he held me hostage with politeness. It's bad enough we in the service industry owe these people our physical labor. We shouldn't have to owe them our emotional labor, too.
