They vary in length or head; but many are the approximate size of your average pool/billiards stick. A few have 3 prongs, sometimes offset if meant for meat, and some even have decorative heads if for meat. Two across, especially with a minor curve seems the most utilitarian though.

I just can't believe how we used to clean them lakeside though. We'd use the finer sand to rub the excess meat and coal off before sterilizing them in the fire for another braut or mellow.
