You're a late 18th century Acadian farmer living in Nova Scotia. You have potatos and chickens, do you A:
>bake potato
>bake chicken
>enjoy
Or B:
>boil chicken
>spend all day finely grating your potatos into raw potato slime
>spend all day squeezing all the liquid out of the potato mush until you have dried out raw potato sludge
>replace all the drained potato water with like 5 times as much chicken broth (I forgot how much but it's a fucking lot)
>add chicken/quahogs/whatever miscelaneous small creatures are available to you into the potato/chicken broth soup
>bake until golden brown and solid/semi-solid
>wait like 3 hours for it to cool off enough to be edible
>enjoy

Rapure is actually pretty good but how in the absolute fuck do you come up with a recipe like this? I can understand why people like it myself included by WHY would you make this? If it weren't for the fact that you can just buy the drained potatos packaged up in supermarkets here fucking no one would ever make this. Made it once from scratch with my mom because she used to do it all the time as a kid and I'm never doing that again.

It's a bitch to find proper rapure outside of Southern NS, but fuck me, she's some good.
