I'm fairly well traveled, both in the US and out of the US (36 countries and 5 continents under my belt as well as 43 of the US states). Frankly, Europe is far more a homogenized place than the US is and as much as y'all like to disavow it, most all of Europe is much closer in culture to us Americans than you can ever admit to yourselves, much less anyone else.
