Funny that you should ask that in a thread about taco bell raising prices and cheaping out on products.

The bellburger was the original; it had meat, cheese, mild sauce, lettuce, with optional tomato. It was there from the opening of the restaurant in the 60s to the 70s.

The bell beefer was the replacement they introduced in the 70s, which was one of the first times taco bell decided to screw the customer. It had meat, mild sauce, lettuce, and onion. The cheese and optional tomato were only available on the bell beefer deluxe for an additional charge.
