Kitchen horror stories? Okay.

I worked with a chick who was slicing a ham on the meatslicer. She pulled the ham back, and when she pushed forward really hard, her hand slipped off the grip and her whole arm flew forward into the fucking blade.

Nice thick slice of meat was dangling off her arm from halfway down her pinky finger up to her elbow.

She literally pulled her arm back from it, saw the blood everywhere, passed out and collapsed. She went white as shit and we drove her to the hospital where they wrapped it all up.

The skin healed back up fine since it was just cleaned and pushed back up where it was sliced off, but she still has no feeling in most of it.

And then another time at a different place we were doing some prep and I heard the guy behind me workong on the other table let out a quick yelp like a fucking dog. I look over and all his finger tips are missing because he was being an idiot with the fucking mandolin. Thank fucking god he was just using the straight edge and not one of the serrated ones for doing waffle cuts or shoestrings.

And for me, I lobbed off the end of my thumb cutting mushrooms. Knife was so sharp I didnt even notice until I saw the chunk on the board and wondered what it was. It wasnt a big enough chunk to re-attach,, and they couldnt do stitches, so they just bandaged it up. A big lump of scar tissue grew in and the end up my thumb looks normal now, but I cant feel anything in the tip.
