>baker at bakery with cafe/resturant in the front
>one of the perks is free drink at start of shift which FOH makes/delivers since we're busy as fuck
>working on giant batch of cake
>pastry chef shows up and asks if I wanted a coffee since she was ordering one too
>say sure
>she goes to FOH
>comes back
>"I told a server our orders and she said 'they were closed'."
>"Wait what?"
>"So then I made it explicitly clear why I was there but she said that 'it wasn't something they do'."
>FOH manager comes through 30 minutes later
>wonders why we haven't ordered any drinks because we usually do and offers to get an order started
>we say coffee would be great
>5 minutes later
>FOH manager walks past
>then the exact server who told pastry chef that it "wasn't something they do" walks in and sheepishly delivers our coffee

The pastry chef had a shit eating grin the whole time.

The fact that this place is a bakery first and foremost before a restaurant/cafe is a blessing desu
