Why does it take 35+ minutes to heat an oven to 450 degrees ? Is it not the correct temperature when the beeper goes off? Because my beeper goes off in 5 minutes.

I need to successfully make bread. Do you guys have a simple method for whole wheat or unbleached flower? I ran into a guy that posted instructions last year.
