Lol. If you read back through that reply chain I was trying to lead OP along like an obstinate kindergartner who needs to feel like he came up with an answer himself just to get him to say he was making A FUCKING PAN SAUCE. That was the only point of asking about washing the pan or whatever. It was all just to get him to say that one god damn thing, and he just couldn't get there. It seems dumb in retrospect, but none of that really had anything to do with anything in your post, which I for the most part agree with. I just wanted him to say that he was using the cast iron pan to make a pan sauce because YOU DON'T NEED TO TILT THE PAN AND "SCRAPE OUT THE FOOD" if you've just browned some meat and created a fond. I also wanted him to say SOMETHING about heat retention, which is why I kept asking WHY he's choosing this pan or that pan for certain things, but he obviously had no clue what he was talking about.

Yes, this is totally a real thing that happens. I like the Thursday afternoon buffet in the back room of Baskin-Robbins where they dust them and halvah and give them a quick sear. It's not very traditional, but I like to load up one plate with foreskins and chopped liver, and another one with blintzes and pickled beets. Add a small bowl of matzah ball soup and I'm in heaven.

Thanks for reminding me that, despite everything, it's still good to be an American. Living in a culture where something as basic as Greek or seafood seems "too exotic" for the general population would be suffering.

I don't have to imagine it. I'm living it.

Ah yes, London pizza. I have fond memories of eating their "ham and sausage and one slice of pepperoni" specialty on the banks of the Thames in my younger, more adventurous years.

Most boomers are retired and living on a fixed income, and Walmart put half the grocery stores in America out of business over the past 20 or so years, so it's typically going to be both the closest and cheapest option.

Why does anyone else buy food at Walmart? No fucking clue.

>we don't give a shit or take notice what everyone else does
While you're not entirely wrong, you're playing into the stereotype of Americans being sheltered and ignorant while thinking they're better than everyone else. The truth is that the average (non-Southerner/red state) American is more cultured, more traveled, more knowledgeable of different cuisines and cultures, and just generally less xenophobic than almost anyone in Europe, or anywhere else on the planet. If you've been on /ck/ for more than a day you've probably seen someone post something along the lines of, "this board would be so much better if we range banned Americans". I implore you to stay up one night and browse /ck/. There's a few hours every night when yuros are just waking up and strayans are just getting home from school, when most Americans are asleep, and the board literally turns into /b/ 2.0. When they aren't shooting off one line throwaway forced memes all they talk about is kebabs. Imagine if the average American kid was fed nothing but hamburger helper, except once a month when their mom would take them to Panda Express to buy them a plate of orange chicken. Now imagine if every American never shut up about how good Panda Express orange chicken is, and even argued over which location makes the best orange chicken. That's how 90% of the non-Americans here talk about kebabs, and when they aren't talking about kebabs they'll post (e.g.) the same Ramsay grilled cheese image that was old 5 years ago with nothing but a "."
